Hidy,
I'm trying to integrate flash animations in the Banner Module instead of a normal jpg or gif or text or whatever that could be used for advertisement. The Banner Module says :"Supports many image types, flash animations, and text-based ads".
I've tried already to upload the flash animation with file attachment and upload option but it doesn't work although in "my banners" it shows an empty space of 180x180 but nothing else... maybe it's the link? I've reffered to http://www.mysite.com/files/ad.swf , is that the way I should have done it?
I've also tried to write html code for the display (as you would normally do with a flash site or animation) in the "text" option but that doesn't work neither, neither does this work with the java enabled.
Is there really a way to use a flash animation or is it only images and text?
I did a search on the Drupal website here but nothing seems to be related with this topic.. if I'm wrong, please correct me immediately. I would only appreciate that.
or if you have any workable or trial suggestions, please share.
thanx,
BassPlaya

I should also mention that I've put those 'banner_db.php' and 'banner_file.php' files in the root directory.. this is: "http://www.mysite.com/banner_file.php but I guess this isn't really the problem coz I can see my banner images (jpg) if I use images.. so Banner Module is up and running good apart from those flash animations...
IN the install.txt they specify that I should set the correct permissions.. don't know how I should do that? with phpMyAdmin? I guess I don't have to do this since my Banner Module is working.. but I guess this can be somewhat insecure, what do you think?

why are my banners visible as posts?
I found out how to get rid of my banners and their information from the front page as posts. My banners are still visible in the intended area but now they have (luckily) gone from the front page as posts.
here's how:
go to administer>content
there you should see your banners as posts (I still find that weird, who wants to use their banners as posts anyway) if you tick the banner-posts that you don't want to see as a "recent post" or posts on your front page or on the "recent post" page then you can click update (just above) before selecting "demote the selected post", that does it.
this is actually the reason why I write this since it was so confusing for me but I found the solution to it. I'm sure it can help others as well, I (newbee) spent hours on figuring out where it was. hope I could help you also for once.. I'm getting proud of myself :-D
if somebody has anything to correct me.. please do. I'm learning too.
